A great hit counter is from http://freelogs.com. With over 7 pages of styles to choose from, and they don't make you jump through hoops to get going. The free version does run one small ad under the counter, and there are no stats pages. A neat little counter is provided by http://www.prophecy-i.com. I like the look of this counter, and the statistics are easy to view, just by clicking on the counter itself. They are also working on more add-ons. Your viewers do get one small popup ad when your page is viewed.
